WEEKLY WORSHIP

Join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10am at the Reality Center (916 Lamond Avenue).

We are a community who desires to see and love others incredibly well the way Jesus did (and does). In worship, this looks like:

  • inviting all into authentic relationships with God and with each other

  • celebrating the diversity of our gifts from God

  • empowering each other to use those gifts to bless others and partner with God in the renewal of all things.

If you can’t join us in person, you’re welcome to worship with us online.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Here’s what to expect if you join us on a Sunday morning. More questions? Email us.

Every Sunday

  • Prayer is an important part of our worshiping community. We invite you to offer prayer requests during worship for our lives, our church community, and the wider community we serve. Our prayer team will pray for requests each day of the week.

You may also email prayer requests to Pastor Evan.

  • Our Sunday worship music includes a mix of hymns, contemporary music, and original songs led by a rotating cast of volunteer musicians from the congregation and some of the Triangle’s most talented local musicians. Our music strives to be Christ-centered, sing-able, and reflective of the immense riches of our area’s folk-music traditions.

  • Each Sunday we proclaim the good news of God's gracious love for all. We ask the Holy Spirit to translate the good news found in Scripture into our daily lives.

  • We believe communion is a remembrance of God acting for us in Christ and a tangible practice of God’s continuing presence with us. We invite all to join in our weekly practice of Communion as a reflection of our shared life in Jesus, who gave himself for all. We have a gluten free option and individual cups available.

Throughout the year

  • Every few months, we invite children three and older to remain in service for the whole worship hour. Sermons are usually more conversational and interactive. We also practice spiritual disciplines together, such as writing gratitude notes and completing service projects.

  • We believe that baptism is a powerful sign of belief, belonging and new life! We celebrate baptism each Easter and offer a Spring baptism class for anyone interested in learning more about baptism or being baptized.

  • Twice a year we invite parents of little ones to thank God for the gift of their child and commit to encourage their child to follow Jesus Christ as Lord. As a church, we promise to offer love, encouragement, strength, and guidance to these families and children as members of God’s Family.

  • Each month, we share a potluck meal in the back community room. We remember both the fellowship feasts of the early Christian communities in Acts and the roots of The Gathering Church. GC began by meeting in homes, worshiping together and sharing weekly meals.
