The Good Friday service is the one service of the year that is not a celebration.

The Good Friday service is the one service of the year that is not a celebration.

It is a remembrance.

A remembrance of the last hours of Jesus.

And it is very special to us.

It unites us to the power of the Cross.

It prepares us for the power of the resurrection.

We will join Oak Church, the church planted by the Gathering Church over two years ago.

Then Sunday we celebrate Easter. Be sure to invite family and friends to join you on this special day.

If the tomb had not been found empty, if Jesus had not appeared afterwards to so many, I do not know what we would be doing on Sunday, but we would have never heard about someone named Jesus.

An incredible event, but more than an event, a beginning of God’s resurrection power let loose in the lives of all who would hear and believe the message.

The Apostle Paul prayed for believers that they would know that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead was now at work in them. Ephesians 1:15-23

How can we experience the power of the resurrection in our lives?

Especially at times when we might feel dead or numb. Or worse – alive to the wrong energies of this world.

Ever feel like you are hanging around in the tomb? Even though the stone has been rolled away?

We have a lot to celebrate.

We have a lot to experience.

He is risen!

He is risen indeed!
