Not always a good word.
It implies dissatisfaction, not being content with what one has. Isn’t Sheryl Crow right:
It’s not having what you want, it’s wanting what you’ve got
More wants something you don’t have, or least don’t have enough of.
But, there are plenty of things that we should want more of. More awareness of the needs of others. More love for our families. More wisdom about the times in which we live.
If we were able to choose more of something, what would that something be? What could we have more of that would most likely affect our lives for the good?
Because this is a church blog, you already know the answer.
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. Psalm 42:1
This Sunday the Gathering Church begins a short message series, More. How do we experience more of God in our lives? What happens if we do? Does it really matter or change anything? What if you’re not the least bit thirsty for God?
We will also remember the anniversary of 9/11. What might the world look like if we all experienced more of God, not religious bigotry, but more of the Living God?
Psalm 42 will get us started.
