This Sunday – June 2

This Sunday – June 2

“Many start out well, but few end well.”

I was a freshman in college on my way for the first time to a meeting of Christian students. A friend had invited me. The previous weekend, he had attended a conference and had been impressed by the speaker. We were going up the stairs to the fourth floor meeting room and I remember silently hoping and praying that I would be someone who ended well.

This Sunday at the Gathering Church, the focus will be on ending well, but also on doing well as we experience more and more of life. In Jesus’ well-known Sermon on the Mount he closes his instruction on how to live well with a challenge to build one’s ‘house’ wisely (Matthew 7:24-29).

He knows that life will bring storms, storms that threaten our well-being. And he knows what we must do to be well-prepared.

Sometimes it is hard to be motivated to do anything about something that might happen. But, according to Jesus all of us are building something all the time.  But, do we know if we are building wisely?

What are we building?

What do we intend to build?

This Sunday.
