The gym was packed the other night. Almost all the cardio machines had someone running, spinning, stepping, ellipticaling. Only one bench was available for the massive weight I was going to throw up. The place was crammed.
New Year’s inspiration leads to perspiration. For sure.
We are inspired at the beginning of the year to do something positive on purpose.
I’m inspired to begin this year by building a strong foundation for experiencing the kind of life that God has in mind for us. So, Sunday I will start a new sermon series: What We Most Need to Know About . . .
- The Holy Spirit
- Our Mission
For starters. I’ll take a request, or two, on an important subject that we need to cover.
We will identify as clearly as we can the core essentials that give us direction, strength, joy, and impact in this world.
This Sunday the series gets introduced by looking at the pattern for growth God has given us, described in 2 Peter 1:1-11. This is one of those passages that makes claims that are either incredibly true, or absolutely preposterous. As I was reading it the other day I found myself thinking, “Are you kidding me? This is what God has in mind?”
Can’t wait to teach this Sunday.
Together, let’s grow at the start of 2010.
