The beginning of a new year is good for both.

What meaningful hopes are you focusing on as you begin 2014?

This first Sunday of the year at the Gathering Church I am going encourage and challenge us to accept one for this year. It is found in Psalm 143:8-10.

The hopes that matter to us most often find their way into prayer. That’s why I like to begin each year with a prayer focus from the Psalms.

Those prayers have a way of shaping more than our hopes. They shape who we are.

Begin this year by imagining what would happen if the prayers in this passage were fulfilled…
