The first sermon preached about Jesus after his resurrection and departure ended with an invitation.

An invitation to receive a gift.

What was the gift?

The Holy Spirit.  Acts 2:38

That’s a little surprising.  One might think that the gift would be salvation, forgiveness of sins, eternal life, peace and joy.

Certainly, all those things are fantastic aspects of a life with God and a relationship with Jesus Christ.

But, it is the Holy Spirit who makes anything with God possible.

This Sunday at the Gathering Church we continue the series on Hearing God with a focus on how the Holy Spirit can teach us, guide us, and transform us.  John 14:15-17, 25-26

How do we experience God’s Spirit?

How do we know that we have God’s Spirit?

What does the Spirit actually do in our lives?

Did you know that the word Christ comes from the Greek word for Messiah, and that Messiah means Anointed One?

What was Jesus anointed with?

God’s Spirit.

What did Jesus want to make sure his followers had?

God’s Spirit.

If you are hungry for more of God, this would be a great Sunday to be there.

I hope to see you.
