Living in God’s Story: a new study of the Book of Acts

“I have no idea what I was doing with my life before.”

That’s what Steve said to me as he described his new experience with God and his involvement in a church for the first time.

In his late thirties, married with three kids, working hard in his career, having fun with his sports, he sure seemed active enough.

But he was discovering a bigger purpose for his life. Something that made everything that had seemed so important lose its significance in comparison.

This Sunday at the Gathering Church, we will begin a new sermon series: Living in God’s Story. This is a study of the book of  Acts: the book that describes how God used the first followers of Jesus to carry on his life and work. It’s a wild story that has inspired Christians ever since to be part of what God was doing in the world.

Draw a circle around your life as you know it today. Let’s see what happens as we enter more and more into God’s story. You might discover what the first believers did, that God’s story was so unpredictable and uncontrollable, that nothing in life mattered as long as they could be part of it.

We begin this Sunday.
