God’s Story Going Viral

God’s Story Going Viral

I’m never not amazed when I see it.

Transformation.

When there is even the slightest evidence that God is at work  in someone’s life, I stop and take notice. Like the person I saw after Communion last Sunday. I knew enough about her story to know that the peace and joy I saw in her face could only be explained by God’s growing presence in her life. The story of her life is changing.

This Sunday at the Gathering Church, we continue the message series, Living in God’s Story. We’ll witness the incredible birth of the Church in Acts 2:1-41.

Right away it is an amazing story of transformation.

The apostle Peter, who at the end of the accounts of Jesus’ arrest and crucifixion has denied Jesus like a coward, in Acts stands boldly in front of the very people who handed Jesus over and gives one of the most powerful challenges ever recorded in a speech.

And three thousand people believe and are baptized.

What happened?

Well, it has something, actually everything, to do with the ‘gift’ of God, promised and now given to the first believers and to anyone else who would stop living their own story and enter into God’s.

The Day of Pentecost, God’s story going viral.

This Sunday.
