God’s Greatest Hope for You

God’s Greatest Hope for You

What do you think is God’s greatest hope for you?

That is, what do you think that God hopes most for you?

You’ll be inclined to start with the Sunday School answers:

  • That you believe in Jesus Christ
  • That you love others
  • That you attend church…get involved…give money…

In your gut you probably think that God’s greatest hope for you is that you would be a better person.

Ha!

God’s greatest hope for you?

 JOY!

What God wants more than ever for you is that you might experience pure joy. The joy that comes from being absolutely loved.

I know, most of us imagine God with the face of someone who has been sucking on a lemon or who has irritable bowel syndrome.  (Sorry if you have that.)

But, the message of the angles about the birth of Jesus was described like this:  “good news of GREAT (mega- in the Greek) joy.”  -Luke 2:10

At the Gathering Church this Sunday, the Third Sunday of Advent we will focus on the theme of Joy.  We’ll have some great help from the children in the church who will present their annual Christmas program.  Also, check out Philippians 4:4-6.

What is your vision and plan for Joy in your life?

What robs you of Joy?

Come this Sunday to get a Joy Update.
