God is full of surprises.

Just ask Abraham, Joseph, Moses, David or Solomon.

However, it often seems that those who claim to know God best know the least about the God of surprises.

Just ask Stephen.

That’s what we will do this Sunday at the Gathering Church as we continue the message series, Living in God’s Story. We’ll look into Acts 6:8-8:3, a very violent story told about what happens to one of the first new converts to the message about Jesus.

And it all happens because those who were most dedicated to God did not know how to see God at work.

Scary.

How is it possible to have a life that can know and respond to what God is doing?

How it is possible to resist our attempts to control everything in our lives?

Why did Stephen risk it all?
