Connected to Each Other
We want to have a vivid imagination for how God can and will use each of us to contribute with our loves, histories, talents, and interests to the Kingdom of God in our place and time. Everyone has something to add, gifts from God, that can be transformed and grown.
What is a Home Group?
A Home Group is a gathering where neighbors and friends share life around a table together. Some groups get together for a meal, some at pubs or coffee shops, others gather to talk about a book, or explore big questions.
Why do we do Home Groups?
We have designed Home Groups to do three key things:
- To provide a safe and inviting first step for people who are interested in finding community. Friends, family, neighbors, all are welcome and invited.
- To provide an environment in which authentic relationships can develop as we grow in Christ together.
- To continually turn our church outward, helping us connect with and love our neighbors as we welcome them into God’s family.
We believe that God works powerfully through relationships with other people in really common ways, often times over tables, sharing meals, and making friends. Our worship gathering on Sunday morning is around a table, and we are continually sent out to other tables in our neighborhoods in order to pass along the goodness of God to others.
Who should I invite to a Home Group?
Everyone is welcome. Seriously, everyone! Home Groups are not just for people who call the Gathering Church home. They’re just a way for us to get together with others and learn to be present to God, connected to one another, and engaged in loving the world. Everyone has a seat at the table.
